Parallel Lines And A Creative Pregnancy Announcement

Parallel lines are lines that never meet even when extended infinitely.

How to construct parallel lines

To construct parallel lines, you need only a pair of compasses and straightedge. In geometric construction, the measurement of lengths or angles is not necessary.

Check our playlist on how to do geometric constructions.

Start by placing the point of the compasses at P and adjust compasses so that the width of the opening is equal to the distance of A to P. Then, place the point of the compasses at Q and draw an arc like so.

Adjust the compasses so that the width of the opening is equal to the exact length of PQ. Then, place the point of the compasses at A and draw a small arc that intersects the other arc like so.

Join point A to the intersection. The line is parallel to the line PQ.

Ours is difficult

So constructing parallel lines is pretty simple and straightforward. But not all parallel lines are easy to do or understand.

Me and my wife took a couple of months to figure it out. We did a lot of research. We were on our knees, and yes, there were times when we got discouraged. These parallel lines, for us, are elusive. We don’t have a clue. Maybe it’s not yet time, we thought.

Ours is different

One day, I was suddenly hit by the sensitivity of my wife, her body and mood. And all she thinks about all day is to take a long undisturbed nap. I too, started to get unwell. Aside from my wife’s abdominal cramps, I shared other symptoms - bloating. Whether these are the results of our parallel line conundrum or we are just being paranoid.

My wife understands parallel lines

Sunday night, my wife got a better idea. She asked me to buy this particular kit at 7eleven. She said she researched about it. She’s convinced that we’ll definitely get a hold of this baffling parallel lines.

Early in the morning, I woke up and saw her in joyous smile holding the kit in her hand. But soon after, she said it is still confusing for her. In our excitement, that afternoon, we decided to go to the laboratory to get our parallel lines confirmed. We didn’t get the results until this morning. My wife got the exact amount of hCG in her blood. So yes, we confirmed, twice, we got our parallel lines. She said, “I am pregnant”. I said, “No, WE are pregnant”. And we praised the Lord.
